Pointe D'andey

Saison — 5.5% ABV — 31 IBU — Erebus Hops

A hoppier take on the Saison, built almost entirely around Erebus: blueberry, candied fruit, citrus, and a streak of floral rose, with enough bitterness to keep it from leaning sweet. Dry, lively, and aromatic — closer to a hoppy farmhouse ale than a classic, restrained Saison.

The name fits the hop better than most. Erebus takes its name from the Greek god of darkness, and Pointe d'Andey is famous for the opposite kind of darkness: thick seas of cloud that roll in below the summit, swallowing the valley while the peak stays clear above it, statue of the Virgin watching over the fog. A beer with one foot in the dark and one foot in the light.
