Pointe d'Areu

Pointe d'Areu

Gose — Cherry Sour — 4.8% ABV — 9 IBU — Perle & Saaz Hops

A cherry sour built on a traditional Gose base: salt, a light lactic tang, and a generous dose of cherries — tart, fruity, and pale pink in the glass. Perle and Saaz sit quietly in the background here; this isn't a beer built to showcase hops, and they're not meant to be noticed. Low bitterness, refreshing, made for fruit to lead.

The name marks the easternmost point of the Aravis — fitting, since "Aravis" itself comes from old Celtic roots tied to facing east, toward the rising sun. Perched at 2,478 m at the range's northern tip, Pointe d'Areu drops nearly 2,000 m straight down to the Arve valley below. A fitting namesake for a beer with cherry-pink hues and a bright, sunrise-like character.
